Trip to Western NY for 45th High School Reunion
July 14th I flew to Buffalo and cousin Linda picked me up at the airport. The deal was, if I painted the upstairs rooms in her new house, she would pick me up and retrieve me from the airport, let me stay at the new house, and borrow her brother Don’s pick up truck for me to use for local transportation. This saved me a car rental fee for a car that would mostly sit in the driveway, and saved her the labor of painting the rooms. Good deal for both of us.
The reunion was set for a social gathering at Rookies Sports Bar in Dunkirk on Friday night, and a buffet picnic type affair Saturday afternoon at the EastTown Fire Department’s Hall.
The Raque got back together and played from 7-11. They were fantastic.
The party was a lot of fun. I sat with John “Blood” Danforth and Dave Graf.
The painting, as always, took more work than I thought it would.
I decided to jump into the inaugural running of the Candlelight 12 Hour Night Ultramarathon, being held from 7 pm Saturday, July 23, until 7 am Sunday, July 24.
Tuesday the 26th I flew back to Phoenix and Chandler.
I saw many relatives: Uncle Ben, Aunt Edith, Linda, Don, Bob, Bob’s grandson, Jerry, Jerry’s daughter Amber and son Chad, Tom, Nan, Jan, Jan’s daughter Suzette on the Bradigan side, and cousins Bill and Karen Farnham on the Farnham side.
